Without further ado, here is your fun linky-list for the end of the week:
The Book of Three, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, AND The Hobbit included in this list. Right on!
Rob Caminiti was pastor of the church we called home in Pennsylvania before he moved to Colorado. So touched to hear how his church is reaching out to the community in the aftermath of the fires. Love in action right there!
OLYMPICS!! Mary Lou and Brian Boitano. Gosh, I love the Olympics. Not much longer now before they start! I think I'll have to let the littles stay up late to watch the Opening Ceremony (mostly because I don't want to miss any of it while putting them to bed!).
I am a notorious "tell-er" when it comes to my writing, so I found Patricia Wrede's thoughts on "show vs tell" VERY helpful.
Love this look at The Wolves of Willoughby Chase. Point Three was my favorite!
My old piano teacher AND my old voice teacher would be ashamed of me for having forgotten what a fermata was. Loved this piece on how to incorporate it in one's writing.
Sad news about the creator of Encyclopedia Brown! He and Cam Jansen were some of my earliest literary detective heroes. I now want to go borrow all those books from the library again.
And a bit of photo inspiration for you - consider this a creative prompt, if you so desire!

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
The picture is gorgeous and it sure is inspiring. There is light in your life every day.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Louise!
Yeah, the weeks are getting really short. And summer's coming to an end quickly. Too quickly. By mid-Aug my summer will be over. :(
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I'm hoping it will give me more time to write.
I LOVED Wolves of Willoughby Chase! My own copy is sitting in my bookshelf right now! Maybe it's time for a re-read... hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Patricia C. Wrede has a blog! Thanks for the tip-off!
ReplyDeleteTruly an inspiring picture. And I'm posting a link on my page to that Great Opening Sentences list...
