I have been writing ever since I can remember, and there's never been anything else I wanted to do or be. When other kids were talking about being ballerinas or firemen or astronauts, I knew I was always going to be a writer. No matter what else has changed in my life, that has always been a constant. My parents never told me that I couldn't be a writer, that I needed to pursue something more practical. They have always encouraged me and helped me, even when nobody else believed a kid could be serious about her goals (or a college student actually planning on her future around writing). I would not be where I am today - I would not be who I am today - without them (and my sister, who is very good about giving me a kick in the rear when I need something more than just gentle encouragement. Where would we be without sisters?).
For more personal information, I am married
(my husband's blog can be found here) with two small children (who go by Joy and Grace on the Internet, until they are old enough to decide for themselves whether they want their real names shared with the wide world). Between my husband's scholastic ambitions, our decision to teach our children at home (for right now, at least), and my writing, life is crazy nearly all the time, and fun absolutely all the time.

Some days we feel like life has turned us on our heads since we got married, the way our plans and dreams have shifted, but hey, who wants a boring, predictable life, anyway? As long we we're all in it together, that's what really matters.
