What Else Does She Do?

Between writing and raising chaos children, I don't have much time for anything else. When I do have a few spare moments, I like to spend them:

-Reading. Obviously.

-In the kitchen. I love to cook and bake, something inherited through my dad's side of the family (especially my grandmother), but always displayed for me at home by my mom, who didn't particularly enjoy cooking but did it as an expression of love for her family. Lucky me, I find great satisfaction in creating a loaf of homemade bread or pot of hearty soup!

-At my sewing machine. I am not very adept at sewing clothes (though I love the idea of making clothing for myself and my littles), but I adore quilting, both by hand and by machine. I always have at least one quilting project on hand - right now I have three!

-On the ice. Or to be more exact, these days: watching figure skating on tv, or at the rink for my older daughter's first year of skating lessons (she's awesome at it, by the way). I tend to blog a lot about skating during the winter months; sorry about that. But not really sorry. It's part of who I am!

-My latest endeavor: homeschooling our littles. Still not sure how I feel about this, but it's what we're trying right now. Joy's starting kindergarten this spring (she zipped through preschool a lot faster than I expected), and we'll be doing preschool with Grace this summer and fall. Yipes!
-And occasionally you can find me cleaning my house. I do that as infrequently as possible, though!
