What Else Does She Do?

Between writing and raising chaos children, I don't have much time for anything else. When I do have a few spare moments, I like to spend them:

-Reading. Obviously.

-In the kitchen. I love to cook and bake, something inherited through my dad's side of the family (especially my grandmother), but always displayed for me at home by my mom, who didn't particularly enjoy cooking but did it as an expression of love for her family. Lucky me, I find great satisfaction in creating a loaf of homemade bread or pot of hearty soup!

-At my sewing machine. I have recently started making clothes for my girls, and I especially adore quilting, both by hand and by machine. I always have at least one quilting project on hand.

-Homeschooling. Taking it one year at a time, this is our plan for right now for giving our children the classical education we desire them to have. I feel woefully inadequate as a teacher, but I have to say nothing has ever thrilled me more than watching my five-year-old read a book all by herself, knowing I taught her how to do that. Latin, however, I am letting my husband teach. I do know my limits.
